About me

Meet your teacher

I'm Andrés Felipe Galindo, a language graduate and a teacher from Bogotá. I hold a Licenciatura en Idiomas — I was trained to teach languages, not just to speak one — and a certified C1 in English that I earned as an adult, starting from zero, in Spanish.

That's why I can work in both directions honestly. Teaching Spanish, I'm the native speaker with the accent everyone understands. Teaching English, I'm the one who has already made every mistake you're about to make, and remembers exactly what finally fixed it.

My classes are conversation first, in both languages. You talk from minute one, I correct without interrupting the flow, and after every lesson you get written notes: the words you were missing, the two grammar points worth keeping, and a small piece of homework you'll actually finish.

Why both directions

A teacher who has stood on both sides

Most teachers only know one half of the journey. A native speaker who never had to learn their own language can tell you that something is wrong, but not why it felt right to you in the first place.

Andrés has the native half — Colombian Spanish, the accent all of Latin America understands — and the learned half: English from zero to a certified C1, studying in Spanish. Whichever direction you're travelling, he has already walked it.

Questions people ask first

Can I really learn English from someone who isn't a native speaker?

Up to B2, a teacher who learned the language as an adult is often better than one who never had to. Andrés holds a certified C1 and can explain, in Spanish, exactly why a structure feels wrong to you — because it felt wrong to him. For C1 and above, or if your goal is a native-sounding accent, he'll tell you honestly when it's time for a native teacher.

I'm a complete beginner. Is that a problem?

It's the best place to start, because nothing has to be un-learned. In either direction the first classes lean on the language you already have, and that support fades out faster than you'd expect.

What happens in the free discovery call?

Twenty minutes on video. We work out which language you need, I get a read on your level, you tell me what you need it for, and I tell you honestly how long it will take. No card and no obligation.

Can I switch between the two, or do both?

Yes. Some students do Spanish one week and English the next, and couples often split it. Packs work across both — you buy classes, not a language.

Which platform do we use?

Google Meet or Zoom, whichever you prefer. The link arrives in the confirmation email and works from a browser.

Can I cancel or move a class?

Yes — free of charge up to 12 hours before. Just tell the assistant on this page your reference number, or write to me.

How do I pay?

Card or PayPal, after the free call — never before. Packs are paid up front and are valid for three or six months.
